I like how boldly the bee stands out, surrounded by darks but sitting in the light.
I have been working on how I perceive depth and showing it more in a painting so I explored the background more and noticed how brilliantly the sun shone on this subject in contrast. The feeling of the sun shining on me was a relief from some emotional darkness I had been experiencing, and drew me to notice the lively bees and colorful blossoms all the more. Painting this gave me a shared experience with my friend, who photographed my 2nd reference, and creating a lasting reminder through the painting enhanced my feeling of thankfulness.
I really enjoy the shadows in the background for this one, Lucy. Great job!
Happy Easter Jack! You were the first to respond to this post, and I hid an “Easter Egg” here. If you know someone raising money for a mission trip, please send me the link and I will make a donation. Have a thankful Good Friday in honor of our gracious Lord!
Same to you, Lucy! I’ll let you know. There is always someone at my church who is on a mission trip! 😊
Happy summer. I just ch. 1 of RMZA to a friend. I love the attitude.
That’s great! Thanks. I have yet to send you a link of the friend going on a mission trip. Still on my mind.
Nice, thistles are so beautiful, especially with a bee.
They are the perfect lazy summer afternoon to watch buzzing around.
