I adore the beautiful illustrations by Susan Jeffers for Robert Frost’s classic poem ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.’ This book is one of two Christmas books I purchased this year. The black and white wonderland of the winter woods is brightened by hints and splashes of color from the poet visitor. A curious eye will find many forest friends camouflaged by the simplicity of their world. Susan Jeffers has done an enchanting job bringing this story into my home as a memory of my growing up in Maine, like an invitation to visit there some snowy evening again.
