Our longtime friend and pet family member, Maverick, has died. We miss him terribly, so many times a day, from his company on prayer walk mornings to saving a little leftover gravy for him to lick out of his bowl at night.
Update: May 5, 2016, 4:00 AM – I don’t know why I woke up early today missing our beloved Maverick. Maybe I was dreaming. We have a new dog now, too young to have much sense, and the foolish thing often makes us miss our well-trained buddy (Mav’s smart momma did most of the training before he was weaned). I hope God remembers our old boy Maverick fondly as well, and he is one of heaven’s greeters for us.

You have my deepest, deepest sympathies.
Thank you for your concern. I just haven’t felt like doing much of anything all day, yet your kindness helps me feel better.
you need time, not to forget but to remember. You have known love and that will never leave you. Your beloved will remain with you, in your heart and in your memories.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your very beautiful, beloved canine friend.
Thank you Lavinia, for your encouragement. I love the white eyes on him, and his smile, which I will miss very much.
I have been away from Jack for only a week and the missing is dreadful. How much worse for you. 😦 😦
It is truly terrible. I haven’t even gone for a walk since he died. I think of him so many times a day, and it makes adjusting to this beautiful new home harder, emptier, but I know he is not waiting for us at the old house either. Thank you for your sympathy. Everyone has been so comforting.
Was it an accident, do you think?
It was not an accident, so the guilt is tainted with injustice.
😦
So sorry to hear about your sweet friend and companion, Maverick.
Ah, dear Lucy ,
Sorry to hear this sad news…. My deepest sympathies….
Thinking about you

Reminds me of Shannon about a dog and it died in water and floated away.
