I didn’t feel brave enough to paint in the face details without a few studies, this time using sepia ink and india ink to focus on shadow tones.

    1. I put up one of my other sketches to give a more realistic example of the learning process along the way. Some parts of the earlier sketch are better, and the watercolor probably won’t be as detailed as either, but it helps me think it through to study the details.
