Good Old Waxahachie. Before I moved so far away, before my three part-time jobs, I so loved to paint the historic yards and gardens of Waxahachie, Texas. The parks were great places to set up an easel too. This year, I sigh wistfully because I could not enter the Ellis County Art Association’s Paint Historic Waxahachie plein aire event.

Even though I did not enter the competition, and I was only in town passing through. Here is a sketch I did when we stopped for lunch this year after visiting the event.  We had delicious Pad Thai.

And check out one of my favorite Waxahachie artists, David Tripp: http://davidtripp.wordpress.com  His watercolors are great, and his blog gives us a little peek behind the scenes of creating them.
