UPDATE 08/10/2014: If you were inspired to paint a cactus, but weren’t bless to live near any. .. visit Cindy Knoke’s page for fantastic pictures of prickly pear cactus. Her photographs inspire me almost as much as real life. http://cindyknoke.com/category/gardening-at-the-holler/

This season I dabbled in photojournalism, which required improving my open air photography skills. Throughout the course I was motivated to seek out newsworthy events to attend and strive to capture different viewpoints to tell the complete story. This weekend we attended a community Memorial Day event. Use the “Memorial Day Photojournal” link to go to my “Community News Views” page … or click here.

This morning my family went out for a walk around our town square. I am also taking advantage of the beautiful weather to go out again and enjoy the blossoming prickly pear cactus in my yard (cactus jelly on toast later) and a blooming magnolia tree outside my window at work will get some extra attention during my lunchbreak tomorrow.

    1. Nah, I’m not much of a cook. Our house-mate’s mom made a bunch of different jellies for him. He couldn’t possibly eat it all alone. She is a very generous woman.
