Mario Munguia, Jr. at work
One of the value added benefits of going to university at a recognized art leader like UT Tyler is working alongside up-and-coming artists like Mario Munguia, Jr., and seeing their artwork develop at all stages of the process.

UPDATE 12/12/2014 Mario Mungia, Jr., has created a slideshow of new sculptures HERE:

Mario Munguia, Jr. examines his ceramic sculpture, a bust from a family of monsters he has sketched. In a grouping of large and highly detailed drawings, Mario points out how traits from parent drawings are manifested in the child monster. “I would like to have people look at the monsters and appreciate their uniqueness the way people accept ‘beautiful’ people,” says Mario, who is currently studying fine arts at the University of Texas at Tyler. Mario Munguia, Jr., is a first place winner of the 2014 Inaugural Juried Student Art Exhibit at Paris Junior College for his photography. Last July, Mario had the opportunity to meet Stan Lee in person and he listed the experience as, “For sure, one of the best moments in my life.”

Thank you Mario, for appreciating my artistic uniqueness as well.
