2013 MesquiteField smWhile my husband dug post holes in a field of weeds and mesquite far from the ranch house, I painted with an improvised brush. Since home is where the heart is, and pieces of my heart are scattered as far afield as my loved ones, I won’t be truly at home anywhere until we are all gathered together in my idea of heaven.

    1. Sometimes I avoid stirring up those missing feelings, sometimes a little bit of catching up can make them feel closer. I spent three weeks with my dad and family, and though temporary it was really worth it.

    1. The splash of purple and depth control on “Bottom Blur” made a very interesting picture that I spent a little while looking around in. Good use of sharp and soft edges.

Thanks for your comment on the wildflowers. The sun almost overpowered my view, so I used the variations of colors that emerged in that glaring light to enliven the painting.
