This open arched park is located directly across from the Waxahachie Courthouse I painted while preparing for the plein air event. This is a nice rest stop while visiting the downtown area of Waxahachie, a short walk from shops, antiques, pubs and restaurants, and a lovely mix of architecture. When my daughter wore a medieval joker’s costume for halloween (years ago now) we photographed her on a stone bench beside a tree, amongst the arches.

    1. I liked it too, although I think if it was a studio piece I would have developed the contrasts and shadows more… painting on location takes practice. This is a great place to rest in the shade, but I painted it all sunny because I was sitting in the sun. Silly me. 🙂
