Before we got married, we would often date at Elvira’s Restaurant. We like the brisket tacos, fresh salsas – especially the green – and fresh tamales. The owner and his family were very nice to me while I was painting their restaurant today, offering drinks and compliments and a chair. My son and I are looking forward to lunch at Elvira’s Restaurant tomorrow.
Update from Day 2: The second watercolor painting of Elvira’s Mexican Restaurant was done on a weekend prior to the Ellis County Art Association Paint Historic Waxahachie week. It is being sold separately from the restaurant, although I think the owner wants to buy it himself. We had a fabulous lunch there, and we were most likely undercharged for all the food my son and I got at their Monday enchilada buffet.
